JULY 8:
BACOLOD to MANILA
Although
INAEC inaugurated the Bacolod to Manila flight on May 26, 1933 (AAMC #95e)
commercial covers of this particular leg are rare.
Air mail
postage on this Special Delivery dispatched cover short paid by 2c the
required 20c rate. To INAEC, they could not care less as the Bureau of
Posts guaranteed the company 16c per letter carried by air.
At the same
time the Bureau of Posts did not strickly implement the 20c required franking
as even after two years after the introduction of regular air mail service
to and from selected points in the Philippines was it was still considered
at its infancy stage and likewise a luxury to the mailing public.
